Baitcaster Question
I have decided that I am going to add another baitcaster to my arsenal this year but I am having a hard time in choosing which one to buy. I am looking the new Quantum KVD Edition but I am unsure on how good it will be. I would like to keep the price at around $100 but I am open to any opinions about that. I am wanting to get a more versatile one that can do more than one thing. I just started using one last year, so Im learning with every cast but any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

I got the KVD real a couple of months ago and love it. Casts real smooth and is light and low profile. It even has a flippin switch on it. Only wish I would have got the 7:1. I give it an A.

I received a Cabelas Prodigy for Christmas and liked it so much I went out and bought another one. At $99.00 it's a hell of a reel. I'm thinking about also buying the Garcia Revo S. The Revos are a great reel for any price, and at $109.00 for the Revo S, it's in that price ballpark. However the Revo S does not have the Megnetic Brake which you may want. You would have to go up to the Revo SX to get that, but you would be adding another 40$ to the price. Myself, most of my casting reels don't have that feature and I cast just fine without it. But I do love my Prodigy which does have the magnetic breaking system.

Citica, Revo S, Tierra or TD Pro, KVD, Asaro are all in the $109-119 range.
Don't sleep on the new Browning reels either. The Citori runs in the $100 range. The Midas runs $149 but will be selling at $119 during the BPS sale in March. |

I just picked up the Quantum's *new Burst Burner 7:0:1, it's a steal for the money (around $70) very smooth and durable, I've only casted it a few times, but I really like it...

Daiwa is probably my favorite baitcasting reel company.
The TD Pro looks like an awesome reel. Just don't confuse it with the Daiwa Exceller. The TD Pro was made specifically for BPS and is lighter, has more bearings, and is like $50 bucks more expensive. BB
