I haven't used the baitcaster, but I own the spinning reel and love it.

I didn't have that good of luck with the one I bought. After about a year the thumb bar wouldn't come all the way back up when you engage the reel handle. It would slip as you tried to reel. It got to a point where I would have to manually lift up the thumb bar to make the handle engage the reel. Hope you have better luck than I did with mine. I liked it up until that point.

I have had one of the round ones for a few years and it is a pretty good reel. I did have the same problem with the thumb bar, but I broke it down and cleaned it real well and it has worked fine ever since.

What actions do these rods come in? I was thinking about trying this rod for my Buzzbait Stick.

The USPS just broke my pro qualifier spinning rod during shipping. I loved it. I'm in the process of getting the money to replace it. It's an awesome rod.
