Default Heading back to Loomis.

Loomis lake that is. Loomis lake is a lake I have fished since I first was old enough to hold a cane pole. It's also the lake that has the biggest bass I've caught in my life. I once caught a limit of bass there, all weighing over five pounds. I usually fish at Flint Lake, which also has some huge fish, but since they did the weed kill there this year, Flint has been awful. And the water quality at Flint is awful right now too. Which is funny, because it is usually Loomis that has lousy water quality during the summer months. Loomis usually smells badly during the hotter months as well. Loomis used to have pretty good water quality during the summer, but in recent years, that hasn't been the case. However, low and behold, I drove out to Loomis tonight after dinner to check out the old gal. And guess what? It looks great! It's not over grown with alga as it usually is now. It's not covered in stringy slimy ick as it usually is now. It looks pretty much picture perfect, at least what I could see from shore at the city park which is where the only boat launch on the lake is. The only bad thing about going to Loomis is the park gates don't open until 7AM. At Flint, I've usually got 3 hours fishing in by then. But I guess that means I can sleep in a little longer. So weather permitting, I hope to be out on Loomis Saturday morning. There are some huge bass in there, and maybe I can hook into one. Fun to dream anyways.
