hook in finger and fishing line
Buried a hook in my finger a few yrs ago. How many of ya heard of the fishing line snatch? Bassinbandit with my wifes help wrapped fishing line around the hook, my wife put a little pressure on the hook and the Bandit snatched it right back out the hole it went in. No pain
Thursday nite carring my rods in the garage, buried another hook in my .finger. No Bandit he's at work. It's worse than the other one so I head off to the ER. After 4 hourns I get mad and leave, get home wrapped some fishing line around the hook my tried to jerk the hook out first, but she pulled and it hurt like crazy. I then had her out pressure on the hook and before I lost my nerve I snatched the hook like I was trying to snatch the bumper off a Pirrus, it came out the same hole it went. No pain, no soreness. Remember line around the hook, pressre on the hook and SNATCH it out. Snatch don't pull SCREW THE ER!!!

good to know. My wife has a sidearm cast & the boat still isn't big enough. I'm bound to get one in me one of these days.

This is how we removed the hook from my brothers hand a few years back, and also how I got the hooks from my foot.

Depending on the size of the hook, the barb can cause serious problems, nerve damage, reduced motility, etc.

embry...i got hooked in my index finger as it has been posted here, hehe. now i tried to use the pull it out techinque, but the hook was in so deep it was under my fingernail. and it wouldn't come out after trying for about an hour. that is why i went to the er. if you are "tough enough" and want to not have feeling in any of your fingers, fine by me pal. but i like FEELING things too much to do that when it ain't necessary. yeah.i would make it. have made it. now i want to make it LONGER with what parts i got left intact. too many injuries already. hahahaha!

Did it once for a hook in the finger similar to bama's-on the side where the skin and nail come together. Plus I knew I needed a tetanus shot.

good info i saw this on a show actually. The guy was talking about it and later in the show the guest got stuck, and good. You could actually see they hid it in a couple shots and then at the end he showed the camera how to do this and it seemed to work really well.
