We were sitting around before blast off at a tournament a couple years ago and there was a big bullfrog sitting between a couple of the boats. A guy dangled a jig in front of it and BAM, that sucker went after it and got hooked. If I was going for frogs I think that this would be easier than gigging them.

When I was young I used to do some gigging with a couple of buddies.....At some point my mother of all people said "Why don't you just fish for them with your rod-n-reel like we use to"....I"m like HUH?....She proceeded to show me how she would take a tiny bobber and slide it down against the hook and that was her lure.....she swore she caught a zillion frogs as a kid using that method only she used a cane pole in her day.
Well.....I had to give it a try and low and behold, a dang frog will attack anything it thinks is food....lol. I retired my gig right then and there, and started frog fishin....lol. I hadn't done that in years.......Makes me want a nice mess of frog legs though....They can put up a heck of a fight...lol |

When I was a kid my dad showed how he used to catch frogs with a hunk of line and some red flannel. just tie the flannel on and throw it near them and let em swallow it...didn't believe him but tried it and it works....something about the color red drove em nuts
