253 Bass in one day?
I know many of you may not believe this, but here I go anyway. I have access to 4 private lakes, each about 100 acres, and loaded with bass and bluegill. There is also a healthy shad population. Last year, while fishing with 2 friends, we caught 153 bass in a single day. Yes many of them were dinks, but we also caught several over 5 lbs, and one 8+ lb bass. I really didn's think we'd beat that record, as the fish have been getting lure shy. But 2 weeks ago, 3 of us boated 199 bass. Then Friday, 244 bass, and yesterday, on the same lakes, we caught 253 bass! These included several in the 3-4 lb range and one 7.2 lb bass. Here's a few pics and a little video:
The video is from Friday when we set the record at 244. The next day, we set a new record at 253: http://s174.photobucket.com/albums/w...tch244Bass.flv

Congratulations.Several times, I have had 130-140 ish fish days out on lake Ontario, fishing local club tournaments and not even come close to finding a winning weight limit amongst that many fish. It sure is fun as heck, catching that many smallmouths in a day though. Ivan

Not trolling. All on casts, and I'm not a guide, just a regular guy who struggles to get a limit in our little bass club tourny's on public water.

You are one lucky guy. Better pick up a belated Christmas gift for whoever gives you access to those honey holes. If you ever need some company . . .

That, my friend, is the kind of day that does not come along often but you will remember for the rest of your life. That's when it is called catching and not fishing. Congrats on one of those days!

Thanks for the props guys. I've got a lot in the community that gives me access. If any of you are ever going to be down near Tampa, drop me a pm, and I'll try to work you into one of my trips there.
Disclaimer: I can only guarantee 50 bass on a typical day!

Man you got the hook up on those lakes..Reminds me of growing up in the country in north texas and fishing with the famous h&h spinner in those old stock ponds that had never seen a artificial..
I envy your great catch and thanks for the pics. |

Cold Front shut us down
Got out there Friday and three of us only caught about 50, with the biggest about 2 1/2 lbs. Hope it warms up again!
