Whats the trick to the Zara Puppy?
I've tried reeling slowly, keeping the rod tip low while giving the tip of the rod little sudden jerks therefore walking the dog... But I am confused as to what time of day? what kind of cover? if it should be tossed onto slop? Thanks

1. Early morning is a good time to use it.
2. Try throwing it along the edge or weeds or by standing timber. 3. You really don't throw those of the slop |

Welcome to the forum!
This time of year early and late seem to produce more, but they will hit topwaters all day. Don't throw it into the slop, but right next to it is fine. Regardless of the size, Spooks definitely are not weedless.

The thing with a spook, is that sometimes it's a killer bait, and sometimes, it just won't catch a thing. I'd try walking the dog along the edge of cover in lowlight situations.
