Default Who might be interested

In a Midwestern get together? Last night in the chat room the subject came up when Pro Reel and I were talking and we both thought that there might be enough members from our area now to consider having a get together next year. Bubba was in there too and said that if we would plan it around his work schedule (which should be fine) that he would probably make it up as well. I was just wondering how many people might be interested in making it to a get together for the Midwest guys? Of course the invitations are not limited to guys who live out here, if anyone from anywhere wanted to make the trip they are welcome to come on out. As of lastnight Grand Lake in Northeast Oklahoma sounded like a likely place to host the event.

I will tentatively throw my name into the hat as well. I could probably make a northern Oklahoma trip. I will keep an eye on this thread, sounds like fun.

I would hope to be able to do it. It would be best for me in the spring, my work schedual as a construction engineering technician, gets very busy after May. As you already know, I will be there for the Falcon Grand Chalenge the last week of April. If it coincided with that, say the weekend before that tourney, it could be prefishing practice for us as well.

That time frame would probably work for me as well. Although if we have enough members who are interested we need to make sure that if we have it that early in the year it won't keep them from coming because of kids being in school.

I was thinking somewhere along those same lines, at least we could meet up for your 2nd leg of the trip.

I've got an old motorcycle with a side-car, WJ and I will ride down on it. Might need to put tackle in your truck though.

I'm interested, but of course, we will have to wait and see. I've got a boatload of things to do next Spring, and my paid time off isn't limitless.

By the way.....is Grand Lake also known as Lake of the Cherokees? It's the only lake I can find on Google maps in the northeast corner.

Yeah that's it. This is probably one of the most under-rated lakes in the country, it is full of 5lbers. It's somewhat if a muddy lake but when we haven't had rain in a few weeks it starts clearing up and at times can get very clear, especially down lake in the dam area as well as the Elk River arm. You can almost always catch fish doing whatever you like to do best. It's a great crankbait lake but there are tons of ways to catch good fish on that lake.

That's a pretty long haul for me, Bubba, and even more so for you. Google maps says it's 9 hours and change from here, Mapquest says a little less. I'd love to go, but we're planning a trip with some friends of ours around that time. One of them is a schoolteacher, and we're leaving just as soon as she's out for the summer. Also, there's the other get-together that John's trying to put together right around the same time. That's a couple of hours closer to me than Oklahoma.
Man, I wish I could split myself into 3 people...

I think Kid Rock sang a line like that one time. "Gotta side car on my glide so Waffle J can ride"

I would be interested in going. I've always wanted to fish Grand but I haven't ever had a good excuse to make the drive, sounds like this would be a pretty good reason! Does Grand get very rough if the wind is blowing? I just have an aluminum bass boat that does pretty well as long as the waves aren't too big out there.

I was looking at a calender. March 4-6 or 11-13; April 29- May 1 or May 6-8 will be good for me. Just throwing that in there.

Kory-- can you all use a Virginian? If there's enough notice, I might be able to mosey out there. The boat will have to stay here, though. Think there might be a co-pilot seat open? Maybe we can work out a new link for your website?;
