Cmorg's DS rod
DS822 blank cut to 6'9''..Fuji LVSG guides,Aero reel seat.
Tried out a few new things..Like the Trelikes olive branch inlay in the butt wrap...Splitting the overwrap on the tiger..Both took several tries to get somewhat right Hope you dig it Clint!...

You killed it Walker!! I love the way the charcoal thread almost looks invisible up against the graphite. It makes the red look like it's floating. The tiger transition turned out really clean and the olive branch inlay looks great! I think the color combination really sets this rod off! I'm sure Cmorg is going to love it!!

Walker that thing looks GREAT!
I like the two tone tiger wrap! I also think a rod made with that charcoal grey wrap alone would look cool, almost like there would be no thread at all. So Cmorg, what reel you putting on this thing?! BB

You guys are right , Walker really did a great job. I knew he would. I also knew he would be the man for this rememberance rod as he had went threw the same thing I did , but with a close family member , not just a friend. So , from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. I am using a Shimano Stradic CI4f. |

Some of the NICEST custom work I've seen. The Nelson rods are downright, no B/S, eye candy. The is no question of the pride that goes in to the construction of every Nelson rod, at least the ones I've seen. Just think what a locker full of matched Nelson sticks would look like - but then I'd wouldn't want to use them for fear of scratching one. Some guys have talent, Walker obviously has an abundance of it. Once again, great job Waffle.

Clint you are more than welcome and thank you for letting me build it for you...Guys thanks for all the compliments...Bassboogie,Thats probably one of my favorite compliments..Thanks!
Yea I like that Charcoal thread alot..I did a few test with different shades, and thought that one looked the best for the C14 reel...I thought it was gonna turn a touch darker from the darkness of the blank underneath it,but glad it didnt

WJ,
That rod looks incredible. I'd bet it would glow red when fish are near. CMorg, you are one lucky guy.

I haven't been able to get on much, but I am not going to say anything you don't already know. Well maybe I will...that is a sweet looking rod. I am with Doc J about the thread work blending in and creating a skip in the wrap. Awesome work Pancake!
