How'd it turn out? Catch anything?
I've visited Lake George many times (spent our honeymoon there 35+ years ago - awe) but never fished it. Huge lake. Went on the big boat ride once, but not much to see past Bolton Landing. Never fished it, but must have some nice fish in such a big pond. |

I have a summer house there, and fish the every weekend of the summer pretty much. Your best bet would be to find drop-offs or deep rock piles between 35ft.-45ft, would would fish it with a drop shot, for best results use live bait (crawfish or worms). These usually hold a lot of smallmouth bass. If your looking for largemouth, you will find them in the in most of the weedy bays down in the southern end of the lake. The Northwest Bay also has good largemouth and pike fishing, fish the mouth of the creek or go up in it. All of the islands hold good fish around them too.
Its a big body of water, and not knowing exactly where your going I just gave you the basics. |
