new tackle box
I have found myself looking for a new tackle box and to avoid buying one i have been getting individual plano storage units . the main thing i am looking for is something that is large enough but not insanely expensive, and i have also been considering if i should just keep getting the individual plano units and find something to store those in .

Jim - keep your storage trays and just look for a soft tackle bag to store them in... that's what I use and it works great. Whatever your local fishing gear store is probably carries a couple different types and they are relatively inexpensive. I think you can pick up a bag that holds four - six trays, and has an assortment of side pockets, for near 30 bucks. I bleive I've even seen a nice Plano bag at Wal-Mart!

The soft bags designed for tackle are expensive compared to regular soft bags you'll find elsewhere in Wally World. Continue with the boxes and find a bag that will hold 8 boxes or so. Makes it really easy to change up seasonal baits or mix and match. I keep hard baits in one bag (11 boxes) and soft plastic in another (4 boxes). I can easily throw them in the boat or load them in the truck if I'm fishing in anothers boat.

Depending on how much stuff you've got, I've still got my Plano 7771 for sale. It is a great tackle box and I loved it when all my stuff fit into it. Check it out on the Classifieds.
IMO, the only downside the box had was that it was pretty heavy when stuffing with tackle. Also you could look into getting a tackle bag that'll hold those plano boxes. BB

i think i'm gonna head by way of the bag more cost effective at this time if i got a new bow then i would have all those empty trays and a crushing desire to fill them

Hard to beat the Plano/Falcon boxes and soft-sided tackle bags. Mix up the boxes with some of the thicker for large baits and worm bags with some of the thinner boxes for terminal tackle and smaller baits. I fish from a boat and prefer 2 soft bags that hold 4 boxes each rather than one big bag holding 8 boxes. Easier to store on the boat, plus you would be surprised how heavy a bag with 4-6 boxes can get.

I own the Falcon V12 FTO tackle bag and wouldn't trade it for anything. If you said you're looking for something not too expensive, you could try this, or the Falcon V6, depending upon how much tackle you own.

Buzzie, the falcons aren't even close to "not that expensive". I'd put them under the category "way too expensive".

boxes...
Wally World also sells a cheaper box that seems to match the size and quality of he Plano boxes....they run three something, have dividers with a lip on top, curved bottoms in each row for ease of use. I don't think they are available in the smaller stores, but several in our area have them.
