Wrong Fish
I was fishing a Senko in Black/Red today, during the rain, and i felt a hell of a thump, so i set the hook and the battle was on. I couldn't tell the wieght of it but it was huge. When I finally get it to the shore (10 min. Battle of playing out) it was a 12 lb. channel catfish!! Now why would a catfish want a senko? LOL

i have caught catfish before dropshotting a worm,im not suprised that he ate it,it suprises me he was in shallow water.thinking you were fishing in shallow water, and if you were not,i know you wernt fishin that on the bottom, were you??i have 4 words for you.good bait, wrong brand.i was fishing with grandpa recently, and told him about wave worm tiki sticks.he had never heard of them but he has alot of senkos.i fished every color he had and the color he used was the only one that worked.they are too exspensive and rip easy.wave worms are half the price and last twice as long.they catch the same amount of fish if you fish the senko with black red flake color, imo, but
the tiki will out fish it too.

rrw, I wondered the same thing when I caught a 20 lb flathead on a jig-n-pig I pitched into a flooded treetop a couple of years ago. I'm sure I think it was bassintom wondered the same thing when he caught a cat on a buzzbait(Not sure if it was him, but I'm pretty sure it was someone on this board)

um caught a 58 pound flat head on a fluke in less than 2 feet of water.. why do they bite it simple they are cat fish and will readily bite ANY bait that comes close enough..

Caught a cat on a lizard while fishing with ILbassin. Cat's are predators, especially when they get big. Many of the guys who fish for them use live bait, ie shiners/bluegills the same baits folk use for bass.

I don't catch many channel cats, but the ones I've caught have been on grubs on jigheads and crankbaits. A Senko or any other plastic makes perfect sense.

I´ve caught cats on cranks and spinnerbaits, the craziest catch I´ve had was a carp on a salted worm.

I often catch cats on spinners or plastics. The cats around these parts get bloody huge!!! With that I mean 45lb’s aren’t uncommon and at 75lb’s you got yourself a big one! It’s a bit different from the channel cats you guys have but they often school together in the warmer months. It a lot of fun fishing for them using live bait or just tapping a jig or spinner bait on the water surface. I normally use light saltwater gear as they kinda bust up my gear, the fights are long and hard.
Great fun!!!

I caught a 15 pound blue cat on a spinnerbait one time while bringing it passed a hollow log. I guess the cat was waiting inside the log to ambush bait fish swimming by.

I've caught a 14lb cat on a senko and a 12lb carp on a Yamamoto creature. I've heard of people landing cats on cranks and other fast moving baits. Not too sure about carp. Why ask why? Great job on the 12lb'er.
