Talking My birthday presents and setup help

I went over my brother's house this weekend and his wife's mother asked me if I wanted any of her husband's old fishing stuff (he passed away a couple years ago). Of course I said yes. I don't plan on selling any of these so please don't ask. My sister-in-law's parents were like a second family to me when my parents moved up north.
One of her son's took the BIG bag of tackle but I got a small tackle box with about 10 cranks, 3 spinners, 3 Rattletraps, and some jigs. She also gave me 2 baitcasters and a spinning rod and reel. The only thing is the baitcasters are right-handed and I am a lefty when it comes to baitcasters. I am a quick learner though so again I am not selling them.

Baitcaster #1 - Quantom Pro 3c 6.2:1
Rod - 6.5' Mitchum Fulcrum F66MHT med heavy
interesting note: the thumb bar to let the line loose automatically locks back when I take my thumb off. I have to hold the thumb bar down the entire time until the lure hits the water

Baitcaster #2 - Diawa Procaster PM33P 5.1:1
Rod - 7.5' Abu Garcia Conolon Basslite heavy action flipping rod

Spinning Reel - Diawa 2505BL Regal-Z
Rod - 6.5' Browning Silaflex 915

All need to be cleaned up a bit. I am not familiar with any of these reels.
I would like some help as to determine what would be best suited for each rod/reel. Also what type of line should I put on each one with each type of fishing. With the addition of 3 extra rod and reels to my arsenal, I don't plan on changing out my setups, so each rod/reel will be for a specific type of fishing (weightless plastics, jigs, cranks, spinners, etc).

My other setups are:

Baitcaster - Abu Garcia SilverMax 6.2:1
Rod - 6.5' Berkley Lightening Rod medium

Spinning - Abu Garcia 5.2:1 Cardinal 302
Rod - 6' Berkley Cherrywood medium heavy

I am willing to purchase a new rod to go with any of these reels if it will improve the setup.

that diawa procaster would be a sweet reel to throw crank baits and what not on , i would just go down to a medium rod .

Fishn,

That Quantum sounds like it has a flippin switch on it, just like your Silver Max.

When you turn it off, the cast button should stay down until you start retreiving.

If anyone suggests a new rod, please let me know length, action, etc.
Thanks.

For the lower gear ratio caster I would prob go 7'm or something along those lines .

My brother just gave me a fly rod from his mother-in-law and he said that there were 5 more rod and reels in the shed that I didn't see. This is gonna be great. It feels like Christmas.

Nice! That daiwa reel should be pretty good! Look at the TT review! http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwaprocaster.html

Have fun with your new toys!

I'm pretty sure that mine is a lot older than that because it looks nothing like the one in that review. I'll have to load up some pics after I get them all cleaned up.

I'd buy a 7' M cranking rod for that Daiwa Procaster.

I'd also put the quantum with the flipping feature (the automatic engaging thumb bar) on the flippin' rod.

I think I'm going to spend this weekend stripping them of the old line and cleaning them as best I can. I'm kinda afraid to take them apart because I would likely forget how they went back together. I'm also going to make a trip to my brother's and pick up the other 5 rod/reels.

I feel you on taking it apart. "Now, where did THAT come from?"
If you have a digital camera, you might want to take some pics during disassembly to refer back to as you rebuild it.

just lay the part one by one on a table as you disassemble the reel, you'll see how easy it is without a schematic once its laying out in front of you. just dont do what I did the first time I tried it twenty years ago, after partying all day I decide at nine that night to take mine apart and just laid the parts here n there LOL..lucky i had a schematic in the box down in the basement .
