Default New Underwater Video

I just finished a new video you guys might like, it has a lot of bass in it!

I filmed it in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore area.

Watch it in HD "720p" if you can!

Great video, thanks for sharing. What an awesome hobby. What kind of video camera do you use?

Hey man, that's a great video! It's really cool that the bass aren't afraid of you.

As long as I move slowly, most fish actually swim to me instead of away from me. A lot of them will go broadside to intimidate me, which is great because its like posing for the camera!

I often have bluegill nibbling on my leg hair, and have even been bit in the nipple twice!

Really cool video! The crawfish on the piling at 4:05 looks like a nice meal for the bass that are swimming by.

I would like to know what kind of snorkeling gear you have. So you just use the video part of your camera correct? Thanks Shane

Yes I just set the camera to video mode and I usually manually adjust the white balance to keep the video from being too blue looking. I edit my video's in Windows Live Movie Editor.

My Mask is a Tilos Excel, it's a low volume frameless mask with a black skirt which helps block sunlight.

Snorkel is Genesis Mojave, but I had one of my two break on me and I plan on replacing it with a Scubapro Laguna 2 because I hear they are great.

Fins are Apollo Bio-Fin Pro's and I can't talk highly enough about these things. I use Blue Reef Spring Straps with these fins which makes them easy to put on and remove, and also makes them very comfortable. I use 3mm boots in the warm water, and 5mm boots in the cold water and the combination of these fins, the spring straps, and the boots, makes it feel like swimming with warm comfy socks on! These fins are also solid rubber and will probably last forever, so its really worth the money. They are also split-fins which means you don't have to kick as hard to get the same thrust.

I also have 3 wetsuits, one is a 5mm fullsuit for cold water, the other is a 5mm hooded shorty for cooler water, and my warmer water suit is a 2mm shorty.

If anyone has anymore questions, I would be happy to answer them. This is a great hobby that is inexpensive and goes hand in hand with fishing!

thats awesome. I enjoyed that video. That motivates me to get out there and do that, although my intention is to look for lures and stuff. All I need yet is a suit and a light. These northern waters appear dark.
