Default rooster tail size

what size rooster tails do you guys use? i fish in some small ponds whenever im upstate NY but i fish alot in lakes back in Jersey. i know where your fishing has a big say in what size to use so i was wondering what size for each. Any suggestions?

i've used a lot of 1/8, 1/6 and 1/4 myself. They are such a small profile bait that the body of water doesn't matter. Its more about castability and where you're trying to put the bait that will determine size(for me, at least). I will try to use the BIGGEST that I can and still not look like a complete oddball. Its a reaction strike lure just like safety-pin spinners are.

I use 1/8oz. and they are hard to cast especially if your shore fishing and there is fifteen feet of scum till you get to the open water.
