Default Islandbass’s Baby Bass – Crankbait #2 Completed

I finally got around to completing it. This is the same one that caught a largemouth bass while I was field-testing it when it was still unpainted.

Before

This time, I used a super cheap airbrush that I bought a long time ago and forgot about until I did a little spring-cleaning in the garage. The dark green strip was done by dabs with a hand brush.

After

This is what I call Islandbass’s baby bass color scheme.

There is still a lot of improvement in painting, but I think I am getting better with each try.

I can’t wait to try this out.

IB, that looks really good for a beginner... baby bass is also a good post spawn color for me around here... BTW what is the diving depth?

Cool! Looks pretty good IB! I really need to get an air brush for my stuff too! I'm working on a Lucky Craft Gunfish, IMA Skimmer, and a swayback spook combo right now! It look pretty good! I too some lead wire and wrapped it around the rear srew eye to get it get the tail to sit low in the water. I'm gonna get some glitter and mix it with the epoxy and to give it a shinny finish! I'm also gonna give it a feather on the rear hook.

Keep catching 'em IB!

btw what reel is that?

Ryan,

Bassackwards' estimate of 4-6' is also my best guess. I hope to try it out to day to confirm it.

Thanks to everyone!

BB,

That is a curado 101D. Also, for an airbrush, just to start, you can get a really cheap (and I mean cheap! ) one for about (less than) $10 at Harbor Freight. Check to see if they have one in your area.

Cool IB! I thought that was a curado how is it? I got a Harbor up north about 20 mins away! I'll tell my dad about it when he has off next!

The curado 101D is a supersweet reel. I got it for a really good price a few months before the Es came out. It's actually not my reel anymore. My daughter says it's hers.

Here is a link to the cheapy airbrush I am using. It isn't a Paasche or Iawata, but for its price it suits my amateur needs. I know it isn't the best, but it works okay.

If you can pry it out of my daughter's hands. Even I have to ask permission to use it. I wonder where she learned that rule.
