IDEA for a jig trailer
well, about midnight last night...i was reading a magazine and got to an article about jig trailers...what i gathered from it was, the trailer just needs to create action(i already knew that) but then my wheels got to turnin...and i can come up with some stuff when my wheels get to turnin
but what i was thinking was...would it work to use a wacky rigged senko as a trailer...i dont see why it wouldnt, but what do yall think? i know, its a sickness...u wouldnt believe some of the stuff i come up with |

Most of the time when I'm using a jig it's very heavy cover, or rocks (lol, rocks in south east arkansas). Dunno how well they would hold up coming thru the gunk all sideways.
But, you never know, sometimes something different is all it takes. |

I dunno, you would have to trim the skirt down pretty well to get the action from the senko.
Good thinking!

If you did it, I think you would want to go with the smaller 3 or 4 inch senkos. I think a small one wacky rigged would have action and might pull through okay.

seems to me like the weight of the jig would just pull the senko straight to the bottom and you wouldn't get the wiggle that a typical wacky rig has.

Hmmmm....maybe use a smaller jig, say 1/4 ounce? Maybe the small weight, plus the skirt of the jig will let it float down instead of falling.
I dunno, just throwing that against the wall to see if it'll stick. |

Absolutely not!
You just stated yourself it would. Why wouldn't it? If a bass will eat a stupid worm shaped like a pen, why wouldn't it bite one hooked on a jig? Go try it, and post-up later. -Buzz Last edited by Buzz Wing; 03-02-09 at 06:45 PM. Reason: Spelling errors... |

ummm the only thing i might see wrong with that is that a senko bait will sink .... most trailers stand up to imitate a crawdad's claws .... the two ends will sink and lay on the bottom insted of standin up b/c its made to sink ..... but if you use a floatin worm it would float up....
good idea though

So a Senko won't catch fish if it's on the bottom?

mont's right!
And who ever said use a lighter jig is right! I also a agree with what Aiken said! Use a floating worm, but it would not have the same sent and action as a senko.... well, probably not. You could try boiling it than cool it in to a curve!

hey, Mr. Yamamoto got you guys on a leash .... not the sent and action as a senko ... man that thinner worm would have more action and jsut as much salt.... man he doesnt even have to advertise ..... great products but man they aint magic or nothin

Also I've seen guys like Ike throw a senko on a hook with a big ol sinker on the curved part of the hook for weight. Give 'er a try! |
