Fished a tournament on a river upstate and my partner missed a bass on a popper early on in the fog. He kept on popping but no other strikes, while I started jigging and worming like the day before. For three hours I caught fish - he stopped fishing when the fog lifted and I came in first on the first day of a two day tournament, culling a dozen bass.

I wouldn't say he was incompatible, but if you're on the water for six hours, the day is beautiful and your partner is catching fish, why not learn a few things? As it was, he had a tackle box loaded with brand new lures never used - except his popper. Guess you could say he was more of a collector than angler.
