Default YUM Dancin' Eel

I was watching Rebel's "People Who Fish" TV show yesterday night and they were using these with good results. Anybody ever used one?

They where also using the BOOYAH Boogee Bait. Is there much difference (or any at all) between these and regular chatterbaits. Except for the special hook on the Boogee bait They seem the same. Does the different shape blade on the Boogee bait give a different action?

Thanks again,
BB

Dancin Eel is and old timey lure, brought back again. It's a lousy lure in my experience.....had one of the originals years ago, spent two days throwing it and caught nothing but grass. Might work better if your remove the lip, remove the treble hook, then nose hook with a wide gap hook, weight the hook enough to slow fall the bait, work it like a fluke, gently and slowly and under the right conditions, you might catch a fish.....maybe not.

Your right on Mac. I also had one of the originals way back when. Never caught a thing on it. And I can't say why. It looked good in the water, but never so much as a strike.

I, too, saw that People Who Fish show, and that lure did look very good. I may spend the five dollars to go out and buy it (if Mom allows!)!

those eels arent good at all. you might catch some fish on a stocked bond like the show was. The booyahs are good but as soon as you hit any weeds they screw all up and dont run right.

Lunk don't waste your money. If yeahh want to eel fish buy a bag of reepers. Reeper is an eel imitation. Besides those guy's get paid to tell you how good that stuff is. I've got 1 of the orignals never caught a thing on it. Yeahh there right it looks good in the water swimming. But that don't translate in to catching fish only the fishermen. Pay me & i'll tell how good the KOTEX lure works.

Fishing shows on t.v. always make me laugh. Chances are they are using one of the following to look like they are catching fish left and right on this "great new bait".

1) As stated above, they are fishing a heavily stocked pond where a bare hook would catch a bass, OR

2) They are using the vaunted art of editing. In other words, catching bass on other lures and then switching for the close ups.

not only that, but that 30 min. fishing show sometimes will take them a week to tape. a lot of the time if you watch a show with this in mind you will notice things that will tip you off, like maybe he is wearing a different colored shirt under his tournament shirt, maybe a different hat, or different sunglasses. maybe you can't notice a difference at all but most shows aren't taped in just one day.

also, i saw that show too and when i seen that bait i had to kinda laugh. last year my grandpa and i were going through our tackle boxes and he ran across one of the older eels. his exact words were "i have never caught a fish on this piece of @#!&." then he threw it in the trash.

i like watching there show, but it looks like a lot of them are filmed on private ponds and lakes. meaning that fish in these places will probably eat any bait you put infront of them.

Wow, sounds like there aren't too many Dancin Eel fans. I think I might spend my money on something else now.
