I think I would take a day when I have time to kill and head out to that lake with a good depth finder and a notepad. If you can find a topo map of the lake then so much the better. Either way, I'd explore that lake with my depth finder and just pay attention to what I find and take lots of notes. Draw diagrams of the lake and mark spots you find where the bottom structure looks promising. Note the various weedbeds, stumps, and any other cover you find thats near deeper water. Old creekbeds if there are any. Basically, spend a day getting to know the lakes bottom and key features. After that you can come up with a good battle plan based on season and weather conditions.
