Tru-Tungsten Tru Life 4" Bluegill
Hey guys, finally dropped the money on one of the 4" Tru-Tungsten Tru Life Swimbaits. Have some questions for yall... what rod and line do you fish these on, or any other small swimbaits? Also, is this mainly a big fish bait or does it see all kinds of action? Thanks
Ryan

fish it on at least a med-heavy with at least 15lb flouro, depending on how u fish the bait(top, middle, bottom).I dont use mono at all except for topwater, so I would say 50lb braid at least if you use braid. The fish dont care about line when you are throwing a swimbait, they are gonna eat it if they want it

I use a flippin' stick, 7'6" MH-H. You don't need a fancy rod to throw the small swimbaits, and any MH to H rod you have should work, I just prefer a longer rod. Since swimbaits are a very visual bait, I use fluorocarbon or a copolymer in 12-14lb test. If I've got braid on the rod, I'll add a 4-5' 12lb fc leader.

I throw the smaller swim baits on 12-15lbs mono or flouro. A 4 inch bait will get hit by a lot of smaller bass and not just the monsters.
I usually throw mine on a 7'3" MH.

I have that exact lure. I use 14 pound copolymer line and casting gear. I use either a 6 1/2 MH rod or 7 MH rod, depending on what I have tied on at the time. Havn't caught anything on it yet, but to be honest, I havn't given it much of a chance yet. It sure looks great.
