Default Quantum Accurist Reels...

Anybody own one of the new ones? How much do you like them...any reel out there that they are comparable to?

Default accurist

what do you mean by the "new" ones? i have the Accurist AC500PT. it is a great reel for the $120. just i think they could make it a little lighter.

I've stuck with quantum and picked up some great deals over the past year or so. Currently I have 7 x Energy 861PTxm's and 1 x Energy TE1171.

I started out with some Accurist 501PT's and EX's (?) and while they were good at their price range the next step up is a noticable difference everything is just more solid and has a more quality feeling.

While the accurist is no currado i'd put the curado on par with the Energy reels.

The Tour Edition reels are simply quality engineering... very nice indeed.

Quantum reels are not the lightest on the market.. even the Catalyst spinning reels i have aren't exactly light.

I picked up one about a month ago. Like it so far. Caught 7 bass on the first trip of the year. One was a 5 lber. I'm using it for jigs and t-rigged plastics.
