Pond Cover
My friend lives on a private pond that is stocked with bream and bass, some up to 5 or 6 pounds. The only problem with the pond is the lack of consistant cover for the bass. The only real cover for bass is a 6 inch wide PVC pipe that runs about 30 feet out into the lake. My friend and I were considering building small boxes out of 2x4s and plywood, dropping them in 3 different locations around the pond, then kind of chum the water with bread and other meats to attract the baitfish, which would attract the bass to their new homes. We planned on placing them in a triangle around the pond, and doing so would allow us to reach each box and the paths that the bass would travel to get from box to box from shore. Has anyone else ever tried this, or even though about it? Any feedback would be nice...

There is nothing wrong with adding some man-made structure but this time of the year here the water temperature is to high in any these ponds to catch any decent fish during the day. Try fishing late at night to the early morning. Your best bet for daytime bass fishing is the river.

Next christmas get everyone you know to give you thier real christmas trees (pine) and next spring take a 8x16 inch block that they do house foundations and wire it to each tree and sink it where ever you want..thats great fish cover, or any tree or fallen timber works IF the pond owner will allow it..better get the OK first
