What's the max you guys would pay for this?

Just off the top of your head, provided everything was legit and operational, what's the max you guys would spend on this boat? Thanks |

It's a clean enough looking boat, but I wouldn't offer a penny over 7 grand for it, and that's assuming the outboard has less than a hundred hours on it. That boat was probably 14-15k new....six years ago.
The electronics are pretty much worthless, imho. Entry level junk. You'll fish with them a week before you want better. iPod? Stereo? on a fishing boat? pffft... Hell...the 90 is just a plain old 2-stroke.....not even an Optimax. Even if it were a fair price, I think you could still find a better deal. Cash is king.

Nice looking boat. Trust me on this , pictures make things look much cleaner than they are. That carpet is stained , I can see it already in the pics. Galvanized trailer. I would probably offer up to 8k. I agree with Nofear , that stereo would be useless to me ( unless there was a heck of a storm brewing , then a local station could be of use for any severe weather warnings )

Boat looks good, I think 7-8k would be about right. For that cash though you might want to look for a glass rig. Alum are cool on smaller lakes but once the wind kicks up you'll be wishing you had a glass boat.

I would buy a glass boat but don't think it would be wise to tow, launch, and recover it with a 4 cylinder, 5-speed,non-4wd pickup truck - lol I will not be "that guy" that takes those chances of losing my truck due to a slippery ramp or god knows what for that matter. My tow max is 3200lbs and I'm sure a glass rig/trailer easily exceeds my limits. Last edited by BBD; 04-05-11 at 12:03 AM. |

We have guys in our club that tow 23 ft center consoles with 4 cyl nissans. Here in FL everything is flat and the ramps aren't steep at all.4x4 is Definatly not needed. I would say that rig runs about 80-100 lbs at the tongue and no more than 1800-2000 lbs total. My stratos with a 150 fully loaded weighs about 1500. Gives you a reason to get a new truck with the cash you save lol. My friends 4 Chk towed my rig just fine.

Well in that case, I may just have to re-think my options. Would be nice to have a glass rig in heavy winds.

I think that's the only draw back to an Alum. Rig in FL. When the wind picks up they bob like a cork. That n keep them away from the salt. My buddies rig is a pile of corrosion after 2 years at the lagoon. You could always ask to hook the boat up when your there to make sure you can pull it ok. That's not unreasonable.

FYI, I just found out tonight , if your interested, a guy in my club has a 2000 ranger R71 he's selling. It's a 17 footer with a 125 , 71lb hand control tolling motor, huminbird electronics with gps, upgraded steering, trailer has brakes, and a bunch of other upgrades in very good condition for 9k obo. He takes good care of his stuff n dosent beat on it. New job forces sale. Might be something to think about n should work with your rig. He tows it with a Honda pilot.

I would offer $6500. I fish Florida all the time and really don't have any of the problems listed above. I fish 2-3 tourneys a month so they are capable boats and really electronics in half of Fl lakes are so-so because everything is shallow.
