Default Ambassadeur Reels

I was given an ambassadeur reel yesterday that is missing the reel mount . The spot welds came off and the guy who had it lost the mount somewhere and couldn't find it.

Where can I take this thing to get a new mount and get it welded back on?

I don't know, but if you buy from abu, it's gonna cost you. The sold me a 23 dollar bolt and charged 8 bucks for shipping. You might just want to buy a cheap reel, tear the mount off, and have a friend weld it.

It is a 6000 C. i looked and didn't see any on their site. I'll just have to call them up and see what they say about fixing it.

So you are just missing the foot?

To be honest, I would improvise. Get a heavy peice of aluminum, cut it to the right size so it fits in the rod seat, and tie it on using braid - lots of it, wrapping around the seat and whatever you can attach it too - coat the braid in the pro's softbait glue and you're set. I know it sounds ghetto, but I garantee I could make it work and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in how the reel casts. I mean hell, use duct tape, lol!

Come on man what do you think our forefathers of fishing did in the same situation, there wasnt a walmart on every corner, there was no e-bay and no one threw anything away. I like the WTL soultion may I add some zip-ties or bailing wire. Also there are alot of epoxies and such that ought to work just fine. GET OLD SCHOOL!
