Line
I currently have 10 LB Monofilament on my baitcaster. I am going Salmon fishing tomorrow and I want to put my braided powerpro line on it, but then I want to switch back to the mono so that I can practice and junk. But I don't want to waste 10 dollar line on one day of fishing. Should I put the line back on the fishing line spool and then respool it when I'm done or what?
Does this make sense? Can I just tie the braided line onto my spool and then reel, or do I need to do something special when spooling braided line? |

Sure you can. Save the spool, and when you want to switch just reel it back on the spool. A fast easy way is to get a long bolt and put a wingnut on it with the wings pointing up towards the head rather than down like a wingnut is normally threaded on. Put the bolt through the spool and secure it in an electric drill. Tighten the wingnut down holding the spool secure and let the drill do the work.

Thanks a lot ReDBasser.
Do you really think 100 yards of line is enough? It's approx. 8 lb test diameter (30 lb test braided powerpro) |

For Salmon? I'd probably put the whole spool on. Where a bass won't spool you a big salmon might. Better safe than sorry.
