Default Bait by season

What bait do you use in per season.

List below is what you will see me commonly throw...

Spring (pre spawn)- creature, tight wiggle cranks & spinnerbait
(post spawn)- shaky worms, fluke & topwater/buzzbait

Summer - BIG bait...wide wobble deep cranks, worm & jigs

Fall - shallow cranks, spinnerbait & topwater/buzzbait

Hurry up Spring!

I never really know what I am going to use until I get fishing.I can tell you I always start out with a jig and a rattle trap tied on.There are some exceptions to this.

Spring - Red rattle traps.Bill Lewis started the #27 trap color back.It is hands down the best spring trap color ever made.I hate paying just short of $6.00 for a Lewis brand trap though.

Summer - chartruese /blue backed cranks will be tied on first.

Fall- Brown craw skirted jigs.I really like the texas craw skirt pattern.I don't know why but it produces more fish than any other color combination. Its the only time I match skirt/trailer colors. P N J

Sure depends where I'm fishing. For my usual weedy NYC reservoir trips here's my starting lineup:
Ice out: 1/4 oz finesse jigs, 1/8-1/4 oz jig head on a tube, X Raps
Pre-Spawn: 4 inch tubes, 1/2 oz jigs, X Raps, Drop Shot, stickbaits, Spinnerbaits, creature baits
Summer" 1/2-1 oz jigs, deep diving cranks, spinnerbaits, drop shot, big creature baits, and weighted plastics
Fall: 4 inch tubes, 1/2 oz jigs, X Raps, Drop Shot, stickbaits, spinnerbaits, creature baits

I never know what i am going to throw except one bait i always throw...

Magic bait is the name, not really, its zoom finesse worm watermelon seed, i work it weightless and on the bottom, in the open or in the weeds...85% of the bass i catch come from this bait!
