Well Cranky I Know What It Is Like To Have A Job That I Am Always On The Phone And Always On Call. It Sucks And You Might Not Know It But Im Sure It Really Hurts Your Dad When This Stuff Happens It Does Hurt Me. The Look On My Families Face When I Have A Call Or Have To Leave Makes Me Feel Like An ***. Theres Nothing Really You Can Do. Just Once It Would Be Really Nice To Hear I Know Your Job Is Important To You. Tell Your Dad That Sometime It Would Prolly Make His Day. And If You Want To Do A Lot Of Fishing Someday I Wouldnt Plan On Being A Lawyer Or A Doctor Lol They Are Suuper Demanding Jobs. Im Not Trying To Defend Your Father He Should Spend Plenty Of Time With You But I Just Know What It Is Like And How Hard It Is And How Much It Hurts To Break A Promise. Take It For What Its Worth.

yeah, i should tell him i understand. even though it still stinks theres no way around. after all, thats what gets dinner on my plate at night. and i really want to continue fishing but i want to be living rich as well... i know both will be very time consuming. ive alreayd started thinking ever since i fell in love with fishing about ways around time problems. i figured id spend time with my kids... and fish, at the same time. do something like work every day of the week except saturday and work from 6 in the morning to 7 at night. i wouldnt want to miss dinner with the family.

you also need to think about where you live. her in pa all the lakes are in rural areas. and if you go to harvard law and get that degree chances are your not going to be living in a small town. you would be overqualified. lets see you could work in dc and fish the potomac pittsburgh you have the three rivers. so it can be done. there are so many variables. but on the other hand you will be able to afford all of the stuff youll need to go fishing.

its for motivation. Theres NOTHING more important in life than an education. It doesn't matter how smart you are, or how well you do...you should ALWAYS strive to improve the mind. I've told you before..theres nothing your dad can MAKE you do..because the only person who has true control of your life is you. If you want to be a lawyer, then be a lawyer, but you can't blame your dad for you not having the balls to step out and do it.

Hang in there Cranky! It's hard to juggle all your responsibilities as you get older. I swear time speeds up as you age. There's no time for anything.
WTL is right we can't give you adequate guidance because we are crazy bass fishermen (and women) on this site. Half of the people on here would sell their house and cars if we could live on a boat 100% of the time.
We would sell our mother-in-laws house for 50 free lures and a rod and reel.
So, continue to try and vent when you need to..."If we weren't all crazy we would go insane"
