Default Pike recipe?

Hey guys, I caught a nice pike today, and my dad caught 2 yesterday. We my dad's last night.

I've gotta say though, these were blandest fish I'd ever tasted in my life! Kinda like chewing a flavorless gum (not a chewy though, lol!)

So how do you guys like to fix pike? We're thinking it would be good fried (we baked it last time), or smoked.

Thanks.

You're in the north now dude, plenty of delicious fish to eat. No need to eat pike.

Two of the best eating fish around are Walleye (or sauger/saugeye) and Yellow Perch. If you want eating fish, target them. You southern guys got big bass, but nothing as delicious as these.

No walleyes to near by.. and not to many perch.

I've been watching some videos about pike and eatin 'em. Some prefer them over walleyes! Doncha like pike biggins...

p.s. we florida guys have the best eatin fish.. salt water fish that is!

I've eattin plenty of pike and I like them. I fix them pretty much the same way I do bass. I sprinkle garlic powder on the fillets before adding the coating for frying sometimes. Tell ya what though, try grilling them in butter on a foil made pan. Sprinkle Cavenders Greek seasonings on both sides of the fillet. Delicious!

We've been eating them for years up here in Canada.
Just coat them and Fry in oil same as you would a Pickeral(walleye to you guys south of the border)
Try it I'm sure you won't be disapointed!

This is pretty much what I do....I love the Cavenders seasoning, and I'll also use it with Tony Chacheres "spices and herbs" which is great for blacking cajun style....something about mixing the two brands of spices together really works for my tastebuds.....Yum.

Now that ya'll done went and made me hungry for fish, I gotta get some outta the freezer for supper one nite this week.
