Not a beast over here but more than welcome, as it's the first fish out of a water i have been concentrating on for past month or so.
The 'jack' (as smaller pike are known over here) christened the new gear i had, and on a new lure that went in the water for first time....

thanks for the replies chaps, really appreciated, as i said I have been fishing this canal for a good month plus, without any luck, but i put the effort in and gave the patience, and was rewarded.
