Default Spring??

Don't know what is going on in the rest of the country, but here in KS we are having a very mild winter, at least to date.

Found these in the front yard today, at least they think it is sping time.

We've only had a few days of what I would really call "winter" weather. It seems most days have been in the 40's and 50's, and more 50's than 40's.
I've been seeing birds flying north, and plenty of robins at the house, too.

I have a feeling we're going to have open water about 2-3 weeks early this year. That would be awsome!!! But it's pretty darn chilly casting in a 25 mph wind with temps in the upper 30's. lol

The local Bradford Pear Trees are loaded with pre-bud buds. Water temps averaging 10+ deg above normal.....wild onions in the back yard are usually frozen to death by now but have managed to over winter unscathed....................................djall here about SaminVa??

It's been unseasonably warm here too. I'm worried about what that will mean for summer.

Keith, we've got open water now here. The thickest the ice has been here was a couple inches. I went out about a foot on it and it just barely held me up.

mid 50's here today... and past two weeks we haven't seen anything lower than around 35-40 for the lows and 50 for the highs. Even a few nights where it didn't even get out of the 50's. This weekend it seems there will be a cold snap but after that we're supposed to be back to mid 50's and maybe 60's.

Edit- well seems we'll be dipping to 33 tonight and this weekend is supposed to be colder than when I looked it up earlier today

been in the 40's here... also t-shirt weather!

I think we got another 1 -2 months at least of winter before the water gets soft... at least then I can catch bream and crappy.

Me too!
I'm in Nevada at the moment, been here since January 16th.
Before I came out, I had to clean up the driveway only 2 times.
Since I've been here, it's only been cleaned up another 2 times.

Frankfort, Michigan (10 minutes from where I live), has had lows in the 30s a couple times lately and they're right on Lake Michigan.

Unfortunately, an early Spring would mean zilch for me. As far as bassin goes.
I could always get out there and chase some gills tho!

Like BB said, we have had open water pretty much all winter, which is fine with me! Even guys a couple of hours into Michigan are saying they have very little or NO ICE! The ponds have been wide open for quite a few weeks, and Erie is still not (and a 99.9% chance that will not) be froze over. I don't mind fishing all winter at all.

People were ice fishin when I left, but that was on smaller lakes.

I think old man winter will still pop in for a bit. I just hope he doesn't stick around very long.

As winters in Wisconsin go, this one is a real mild one. Still cold though and fishing in even a 10 mile an hour 'breeze' is chilly!

But I do have to say,
" It's not the COLD, it's the HUMIDITY! "

Took a drive yesterday and there are open water areas scattered around the area lakes but thats soon to change it looks like. Cold temps hitting here again now with lows in the teens at night starting tomorrow and to last through the weekend. But next week the temps should start climbing again. Time to get the reels respolled!
