Post What to do when water is low

Hi all,
Does anyone know where can I find tips for low water fishing? We are about to go fishing to a lake which is in the process discharging water.
I've heard this affects the bass behavior significantly.

thanks!

When they are drawing water in a lake it can have a negative effect on the bass. however they seem to be a little more predictable (not to be confused with catchable lol). Generally when they are drawing a lake down the bass will move out to points or off shore structure, which is where a lot of the bass are this time of the year anyways. Look for points that are close to the channels because these will offer some current for the fish.

I tend to avoid that situation. Having said that though, around here (South Texas) the Bass I'm after have gone to deeper water & are holding fairly tight to cover. That's probably what they'll do in your drawdown situation with the bite perhaps being a little tougher. So, if I had to fish in a drawdown situation, now would probably be the best time to do it. Jigs & plastics with slow, slow, slow presentation tight to cover. Good luck!

Wow C-rig, didn't know you had posted until after I had submitted mine. Had I known, I would have gone X2.

I've never faced that problem. I did just recently read to fish the outside edge of weed lines when the water is going down. You might want to try that.
