Cold Water Fishing ...Shiners ?

Fishing is really slowin down here water temps are below 50 would shiners work ??

bass are suckers for minnows, I'd try that over shiners, that drastic cold would kill a shiner..we use minnows to crappie fish and everynow and then a bass will hit a minnow, esp. a smallmouth...if you try a pig and jig with a pork trailer in deep water, that could get ya a bite or too also

yeah, speaking of slowing down, if you downsize on you're favorite plastics and can get them near the fish, they will strike if you SLOW it way down. I mean like just let it sit in one spot and shake it without moving it, or barely moving it. I rarely ever use live bait, and continue to catch fish all year round, but I agree, it does get tougher when the water temp drops under 50.

dead stick a shakey head trik worm..it works down to 40 degree water..

shiners are good bait year 'round. Course with bass slowing down and appetite decreasing, a smaller bait like a minnow would probably be better or possibly domestic shiners since they're often half the size of wild shiners.
