Default Caught First on a Frog

I reached my goal for saturday morning, I landed a chub on a frog. That was my only goal and that was all I landed, LOL. Boy is it a fun bait, caught in the lilly pads, had total of four blow ups, only hooked and landed that one, but hey its progress and a fun lure. Rob

What size pole are you using? If your not having much sucess I would recommend upgrading to a 7ft pole! hope this will help!

Sometimes they just blow up or slash at a bait, but also the hook set is quite different with a floating frog one sees the blowup, hopefully does not feel it,pointing rod down and at it count to 3 and reel in slack and side sweep.Result will be a lot more hookups.
I love a commode flush, and my heavy action Kistler.

I use my 7'2" MH Vendetta for frogging. No problems hooking up or handling the fish. Just make sure you let the fish have the frog good before setting the hook. It will help the catch ratio. Sometime it's best to not even watch the frog.

Never had tons of luck on the bronze eye. I like the river2sea best, for lower priced frogs. And some 17$ one I got a while back, loved that frog! Don't remember the brand though.. TW used to have them on sale, no more though.
