Swimbaits and Hooks
I was looking at trying some luck "e" strike swimbaits and was wondering what hook size is needed for the 5.5" model?
Thanks Ryan

I use the LFT 7/0 for the 4.5" Bass Magic. It has the widest gap of any hook out there. IMHO the large gap is needed for these bulky baits to handle all that plastic. I have some 6/0 Owners and feel they are matginal due to their narrower gap.
Problem is finding the LFT hooks.

I like the Owners 6/0 Twistlock hooks, however I have to agree with links, the 6/0 gap could be larger for the 5.5 size swimbaits. I have a hook I really like made by Gamakatsu called the G-MAG oversize worm hook. I couldn't tell you exactly how large it is, but it looks a little larger than a 7/0 hook to me. It fits the 5.5 baits very well though and I recommend you try it. So far I have not needed to add any weight to this hook from Gamakatsu to keep the bait running properly. They seem to swim just fine with this hook.
