Some new plastics and a rod.
Went to a different Dick's today. This one has two floors and a very nice fishing department. I got a bag of the new Shaw's Pro Series toads. They are similiar to the Yum Buzzfrogs. I also got a bag of the Gambler Cane Toads and a bag of the Ugly Otters. Then gambler baits are enhanced with "Gambler Bite". Boy do they stink. Anyone tried gambler plastics yet? My girlfriend sprang for an early birthday present. I got a St. Croix Triumph spinning rod, 6ft6in. Med. I don't know what reel I match it with yet. Any suggestions? I'll probably use it for drop shotting.
Bob

Sounds like you had fun! I recently started using Shimano Symetre spinning reels. Sweet reel-very smooth and won't cost an arm and a leg.

Shimano rods & reels. I like the symetry or the new sahara spinning reel both. Shimano makes a great Reel, and their Rods are very nice too!

On the subject of rods someone tell me why I can go to my local tackle shop and buy my favorite rod for $10 less than the going to the manufacturer's site and the rods are $10 more. Hmmmmm .....Cant figure this one out.

I've got a few bags of the ugly otters but haven't fished them very much. They are nice and soft and like you mentioned smell GREAT!!! I've been tempted to bite into them before.......seriously, lol.
