The first question would be: Are you wanting a spinning setup or baitcaster setup?

shimano sahara is an awsome spinning reel and pair it with a all star 7 foot medium action rod and thats the perfect set up for tossin wieghtless worms like a yumdinger or a tikki stick and the such allso does realy well with a crankbait as the more flexibility keeps you from jerking the crank out of the fishes mouth the all star also has a very good spine and will pull any fish you hook to ive seen others catch and caught redfish on them up to 40 lbs they are also very sensative and like i said awsome for wieghtless worms

I started using these on all my hardbaits:

Tying the bait on is much easier than with a regular split ring. Size 1 for smaller baits and size 2 for the bigguns.

Money isn't issue , where do I apply for a job where you're working at LOL. If you want top quality stuff it's gonna cost you, I personally haven't bought a combo yet that I don't switch up the rod and reel. Just get a good name brand, and get a Medium Heavy. 6'6" would be a good all around rod.
