Default Odd Experience

Every now and then you can see some odd things while you are fishing. Earlier this week I went fishing and saw something I have not ever seen in my life. I was fishing with a weightless lizard on a light action rod and a spinning reel with 4 lb. test. I was fishing clear water and I threw the lizard over a laydown and started working my lizard through the limbs of the laydown. I saw a small kentucky bass hammer my lizard so I set the hook and the small kentucky bass got my line hung in a limb. I managed to free the line and proceeded to reel the fish in when I saw about a 2 1/2 pound kentucky trying to get the bait from the 11 inch kentucky I had hooked. The 2 1/2 pounder kept trying to get the bait but could not so it bit the 11 incher in the back end up to about its butthole and latched on for dearl life. I pulled the 2 fish up to the boat and the 2 1/2 pounder finally let go. I have seen fish follow other fish that are hooked and have caught 2 fish(1 on front hook 1 on back hook of crankbait) at a time. But have never seen one fish bite another. Has anyone else seen this before

No but I'm not suprised, cannibalism is very common with bass. When you hooked up with the little fish and it started fighting I'm sure the larger spot decided that since this little bass was spasing out it would make just as good of a meal as the lizard.

No, but several weeks back I watched Nitro911 catch 2 bass on one cast with a Zara Spook-one on the front hook and one on the rear hook. Stuff like that happens.

one time when bluegill fishing with a stand up bobber, a huge bass ( must have been at least 8 or 9 lbs.) Jumped up out of the water and swalloed the whole bobber, but then spit it back out?

Well then thats two instances that something like that has been documented- cause I really remember the pics of that catfish - it was unbelievable, the air in the ball was making it impossible for the fish to dive so it was bobbing on the surface - eventually some folks got in a boat and cut the bball and let the fish go. I still have no idea what the fish thought it was doing.

Thumb, Why Did You Go Through All The Trouble Of Capitalizing The First Letter Of Every Word In Your Post?

If talking about dumb fish, nothing on earth compares to the skip-jack. Everytime I catch them on the bank near a dam or something, I put them back - and at least half swim back into the bank and just about suffocate themselves in the rocks. But I guess shad don't reproduce by being smart.

Wow, I thought my experience was odd until reading some of the others.
One time before a tourney my buddy told me he found a baby duck in his livewell that a big bass spit up.

I saw a bass jump out of the water to grab a blackbird once. Buddy and I looked at each other trying to decide if we had really just seen what we thought we saw.

My buddy and me saw an eagle chaseing an osprey over the river, The osprey was going to her nest. But just prior to them getting to the nest, the osprey turned on the eagle and gave her a good whoopimg. The eagle never had a chance. They faught until the eagle started falling out of the sky. She gained her composure, gave up the fight and flew away. I know the EAGLE represents freedom, but I'm not sure if she is the brave old bird I want protecting me. I was a sight I will probably never see again.
