senkos on weedy flats
I live in florida and I fish a lake that is filled with dense vegetation (reeds)
I have been using a senko recently because it is the only lure I have that won't snag that much. I haven't had that much luck with this technique. What could I be doing wrong. I am fishing for postspawn bass. Could it be that at the time I was fishing there were no bass in the area or maybe it was the color of my lure( pearl in ultra clear water). Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, ps. I am letting the senko sink to the bottom and then bouncing it along the weeds |

Try using it on a Mojo Rig, with long sweeping pulls through the vegetation, don't hop or jerk it, just drag it through the weeds.

Welcome to the forum!
Try varying your retrieve-speed it up or slow it down. You also might work further out from the cover or in closer. Just experiment a little-you will get bit!

try putting it on 14-20 lb test line and no weight on it....swim it through at a steady pace and when you get a hit stop and let the fish take it before you set the hook....my fishing partner taught me to do it this way texas rigging it...it really works here ...just remember if your wanting to be weedless...put your hook inside the worm instead of skin hooking it....and if the waters clear i would try another color to match the hatch...wave worms makes a shad colored senko that's awsome.....silver and white with glitter ....good luck....

hmmm, targeting post spawn bass, I'd skip the little baits and go with something a little bigger. Those big females are looking to recover from the spawn. Keep in mind they often eat 8-12 inch shiners that are literally 5-10 times as thick as a senko. try a bigger bait.

The fish may be noticing your line since you said the water was clear. Try a clear colored line.
