I had a PT Energy for a couple of years..... great rod, just not for flipping. It broke on me but it was my fault.

That would be because of the super low end twitching bar one.. other 80 bucks and up reels seldom get return I promise.

I hear the New Q's are good too, as long as you're throwing baits on the heavier side.

I don't know how you'd know that... Regardless, my buddy returned his fuego. I guess it wasn't the same after fishing his Zillions and Steezes (Steezi?! )

Only PT rod I have is composite for cranking/topwater. Still using it for 3 yrs. Nice rod.

My partner was a Shimano man til he tried the Energy PT reel and didn't look back.

Actually, his comment was triggered when i mentioned i wanted to buy a zillion. He claims that 25% of teh zillions he sells end up back in teh store on a return... but i figure some of those have top be buyers remorsem, returning a gift, just didnt like how it felt... who knows if they are all actually mechanical failures...
