my shakespere sigma has been out under the dirt-floor shed in the off season..

I cant get the side off.. everything is loose but it seems attached up-top..

i took off 3 screws, star drag and bearing, spool adjustment (cant think of the name of it) and its bearing and it wont come off..

any help?

Look for a screw coming from the opposite diretion holding the plate on.Either near the front of the reel or under the side plate where the spool is located.Sometimes under the thumbar.Depress the thumbar down and look and sometimes there is a little screw there.Try not to bury them in under the dirt floor, its hard on them in the long run. i'm taking it apart on my back porch on the table.. inside.. i just store them next to the back door step on the dirt floor garage, or in the shed with a grass/dirt floor..

Let me know if you can't get it.I like to put a beach towel out on the table when tearing a reel down.It helps keep things from rolling around.Keep track of the 2 little springs on the pinion gear assembly. They are difficult to find if you lose track of them. P N J

Try to rotate the left side plate up, or down. My browning reel rotates mabye a 1/3 inch up then you can pull the left side plate off, remove the spool and behind the spool there is a screw you have to remove to get the right side plate off.
