Lowrance Navonics card question
I have a Lowrance 522 model. Question. I have just purchased the Navonics card for this unit. After inserting the card in the unit how do i go about programming it for a certain lake etc. Mainly Smith Mountain or Buggs Island in Virginia.
As always thanks for any help. |

Navionics® Charts
Navionics charts must be inserted into the unit, then selected as a Map Choice option in the Map Data menu. To display a Navionics chart: 1. Install the Navionics MMC in the memory card compartment and turn on the unit. (For full card install instructions, see Sec. 2.) 2. From the Map Page, press MENU|↓ to MAP DATA|ENT|↓ to MAP CHOICE|ENT. Select the Map Name, then press ENT|EXIT|EXIT. Navionics Map Choice highlighted. Press Ent to select the desired Navionics map from the Map Choice drop down box. Check your unit's manual - page 169 (I believe) for slightly more detail Manual is also availabe for download on line @ the Lowrance website if you don't have the book. I think the last drop down will be a list of state(s), that should be your final selection. Last edited by bassboogieman; 04-19-10 at 07:31 PM. |

What Boogieman said, "the map choice" will be the state you are fishing in. When you exit the GPS will be showing wherever you actually are. So if you are on Smith Mountain it will show up.

Thank you both for your help. I did find it in my manual page 169 just like you said. But it kept coming up to the state and i guess i thought it would let me select a particular lake. But Bob answered that for me. I think it is right but i will find out on Saturday. Maybe i can catch some of the ones the Elite guys let go.
Thanks again. |

Well it didn't work. All i get is a map of the Eastern seabord. States etc. no lake data at all. I am going to make some calls etc. to see what can be done.
