Lucky Craft

I was looking over Tackle Warehouse's Web site (big surprise, huh?), and noticed all the different lipless baits Lucky Craft (LC), makes. This reminded me of a show I watched a few years back of Rick Clunn on square-billed LC baits.

Rick was commenting on how he thought that LC was the best crankbait company in the world today. Now I'm not sure if this is in lieu of his sponsership, and its importance to him, or was he honest in what he said? Zooker, I know you fish a lot of LC's; what do you think of them? Are they really the best cranks made today?

Buzz, he has to say that they are great and the best. Do you think that KVD would say that LC's were better than his Strike King baits? I don't think so. They get paid to tell people how great their sponsors are.

In lieu of that, are they great baits, yes. Do I have too many of them, yes. However, I did catch one of my biggest bass this year on a Strike King 4S.... It's what you have confidence in.

i do fish alot of them.. every bait has it's time and place.. lc are no exception..i use alot of the rc 1.5 ,rc 3.5,d-12,and d-20..the paint jobs though good COULD be better..

the ONE thing no one will argue with is the lucky craft hooks. they are obseenly sharp and of the highest quality you can find in the world right now.in fact i am almost possitive they are the best trebles ever made...

What differentiates one LC lipless bait from another? What ones do you prefer adn why?

simple i don't use the lipless baits i start at the rc1.5 and go deeper

I've used A few different lipless baits, including Rat-L-Trap, Xcalibur, spro, BPS. I still like rattle traps the best.

Buzzy,2 LC traps worth taking a look at.
1 LV0 - Its a lipped rattle trap.Its a oddity that catches fish in skinny water whether it be shallow water or over top of submerged weedbeds.

2. LV300- Its got a one knocker sound.It works when other fail.

Now more suggestions.

Yamamoto sugoi vib. It is a small profiled 2 1/4 " long bait and weighs 1/2 oz with subtle rattle or non rattle.

Megabait veeper 60. Its 2 1/2", 1/2 oz bait.

Xcalibur xr50. 2 1/2", 5/8 oz. weight. This bait works extremely well.

Red eye shad. The paint, hooks, splitrings suck but the bait catches fish . Upgrade to triple grip hooks and better split rings and yo yo the daylights out of it.

BB,I would be willing to trade Rat L traps for any Xcaliburs your willing to trade.I will adjust the price difference in the trade ?

Pig, I use my Xcaliburs and really like them, but I've caught more on traps.
