Default My daughter's first fish.

Th picture as a bad angle and the blue gill looks a lot bigger than it actually was, but she did finally cast, hook set, and reel in her first fish.

In her mind this was the second fish she ever caught, the first one came after Dad had hooked it, set down his rod, and then asked her to reel in the line for him.

She ended up with the three of them and has no problem with reminding me that I caught none.

Congrats, she has at her age caught a lot more fish than many members on this board.

The first time I had tried it, she noticed I had hooked one and told me flat out "Daddy, that is your fish so you reel it in" I had to be sneaky on the second one and not let her see I had one on the line.

You never forget when your kid catches his (or her) first fish.

Well done, both of you! I bet you're filled with a lot of pride. When I take my kids fishing, I want them to outfish me every time. That's the way it should be.

Way to go Cass.......that is good stuff!!!!! I have taken my 6 yr. old daughter out a few times last year, but she needs a bit of work on that patience thing! She has joined me in the basement with our case of cabin fever, and she has been practicing her casting up against the wall. She is doing much better and I truely hope that as she gets older that we can share some quality time out on the water!!

Cass, great stuff! My 10 yr. old boy and 7 year old girl are my best fishing partners. You are going to have a ball!
