Shaky Head Rod Build - June 2010
This was my first rod build. It is a 7'0" MHX fast / medium blank with Fuji alconites guides and Fuji NPS reel seat, built for shaky head fishing. Guide sizes were 25,16,8,6,6,6,6,6,6 - 6tip. Thread is FishHawk silver and blue.
Special thanks to Jrob78 (Joe) and WaffleJaw (Walker)............thanks for all the help guys!! Tony Last edited by CiK; 06-27-10 at 11:14 PM. |

Anybody know how to post thumbnails of photos? The smaller the pictures, the better the rod looks.

I think you did a really nice job Tony! Your thread work is very solid and your ramps turned out great. I think you made the right move not using a rear grip, wish I had done that. All in all for your first build I think you did a great job!
I am curious about your finish though. What did you use? |

Thanks guys! I will save you from the list of things I could have done better on this build, we all learn 1st rods won't be perfect.
It may not be pretty, but it works...... **first fish caught with it** |
