Default What can i use this for?

So i was digging in my basement and found some older rods and reels i did however come across this nice reel Pflueger President spinning reel. The reel seems all in working manner and this off brand rod. the rod is 7 foot medium action thats all the rod has for stats. Any idea what i can use this for? Thanks

A 7' Med/F is a good all around bass spinning rod for jigs or plastics <1/2oz. With limited marking and info you'll have to just try it out and see for yourself if/where it fits in.

Ditto DVT's comments.
I got to ask, how did you end up with a bunch of fishing equipment in your basement?
That would be like going to a rummage sale and getting anything you found for free.
Heck that's called fishing for fishing equipment where I'm from.
Thats a ball all by itself.

I'd definately consider using a 7' Medium action spinning rod for small to mid sized crankbaits as well as for throwing chatter baits.

I use a 7 foot medium action for drop shot and shaky head fishing.

To sort of echo the above comments, I think that you have a good combo for light weight finesse presentations. I use a similar combo for fishing with 1/4 oz or less jigs on Dale Hollow, a clear water lake.

I was thinking shaky-head and similar presentations. That sounds quite similar to the rig I use for shaky-head and small topwaters.
