Smoke free-3 days & countin!
Had my last cigarette at 2:45 Sunday afternoon and I'm lovin it!
Bupropion is a miracle drug as far as I'm concerned, especially at 10 bucks a month! Anyone wanting to quit, see your Dr and get a scrip for it

Dont give in , its been just over a year for me. Its hard , and I still have the cravings from time to time , just try to shut that thought down as soon as possible , just think about something else.

You're doing great! I need to. when I think of all the money I'd have for the bait monkey if I'd quit.

M M,
Just a day at a time! This month makes 20 years since I quit. Have not been sorry a single day! (Except when I step on the scales!) JackL

I quit after 15 years and it was tough, used to smoke Lucky Strikes. I took Chantix and I think that it helped. I do not regret quitting one bit, but the hardest thing was changing my lifestyle. I quickly realized how often I smoked and centered activities around it, for instance I wouldn't go to the movies since I didn't want to sit that long without smoking if I didn't have to. It takes a while but your body will heal and you will feel better than ever.
Keep up the great work and think about the money you will save. For me that money is now my boat payment and that's pretty good motivation. |

Congrats. I hope you keep it up. I know it is tough because I smoked for 12 years (about 1 to 1.5 packs a day). I quit cold turkey when I met my wife. The only effect that I had was that I began clenching my jaws a lot. That has since stopped but it did cause lockjaw every now and then because I would do it in my sleep. I know that I will never smoke again because when I am around it now, it makes me extremely nausious (sp?). I found it easier to stay smoke free by removing myself from my normal hangouts that would make me want to smoke (pool hall, bars, etc.). Quitting smoking will change your life and some parts of your lifestyle.

Nice dude! I've been nagging on my dad a lot for the past 3 or 4 years and he did for a little over a month, but he's back to it now. I hope he'll quit soon.
Keep it up. |
