Default Other hobbies?

Thought it might be cool to see what some of our hobbies are other than fishing?

Other than fishing, I love sports and weight lifting (they go hand in hand, like math and science! )! All aspects of it... the nutrition, the on-the-field improvements, the actual lifting, and the results. Just makes ya feel "better." It's all lead me to wanting to peruse Athletic training as a career.

I also love hunting when ever I can, but that aint often, but when I go, I always enjoy myself.

Finally I'll add "work" in. The hard kind! Love getting out and accomplishing something! I really like wood working, making stuff from scratch, seeing what I come up with, watching it evolve from raw materials into something completely different.

So pick yer poison fellas... what'll it be?

Um, I would say ultimate frisbee, I play a good bit and will play hopefully a good bit more in college. I'm pretty good, haha. And some friends taught me how to play frisbee golf, which is pretty fun. I have a couple disks now but haven't played in a month.

Other than that, my girlfriend takes a lot of time and some money (sounds like a hobby), haha. And I'm a nerd, so when school is in session, I would say school. And I don't mind either of my jobs, work at Moes and work outside landscaping for an elderly gentleman.

But fishing is definitely the top dog.

I enjoy tackle and rod building, though I guess you could include that as part of fishing. I owned a jig company for several years and met a lot of great people through it, including some real iconic personalities of the fishing world. I got into rod building a while back and although I don't get as detailed as some of the other guys on here do with the thread work, I have been really happy with the outcome of all of my rods as far as being light weight, balanced, and being sharp looking rods. I still make jigs and spinnerbaits from time to time and I enjoy doing it, I just wish I had more free time to do it.

I also enjoy hunting a lot. It has kind of taken a backseat to fishing and family the last few years but I am hoping to get back in the woods a lot more this fall.

Baseball has always been a big part of my life ever since I was a kid. I played AAU and USSSA baseball as a kid and continued to play through high school, I even made the 1st round cut at an Atlanta Braves tryout in the summer of 2001. I am a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and I follow them as closely as anyone can possibly follow a baseball team. So I guess you could count that as a hobby as well.

And finally I guess you could say that being a dad is my favorite hobby. Lake is getting old enough now to enjoy a lot of the things that I like doing. We have been fishing a lot and he loves Bass Pro as much or more than I do. So we spend a lot of time doing fun stuff like that and I enjoy having him for a little shadow.

softball, weightlifting, snowboarding, motorcycles, 4 wheel drives, working on cars/trucks, drinking beer, playing darts...I have a ton of things I like to do that I've invested a stupid amount of money into, LOL.

My worst hobby that has consumed a lot time and money is a stupid game on facebook. I'm not a gamer, I don't play online games, I don't play my kids xbox or Wii, somehow I got into playing this one game and in the matter of 3 years I've spent somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 dollars on this game. That would have probably completed my rod and reel selection I need to expand on, LMAO! Oh well, it is what it is....

Oh, and not so much more, but last year my dad and I finished an 83 Chevy c-10 pick up truck. It was almost a complete frame off restoration (everything except the cab came off). It took a ton of time and money, it was originally for my brother but it took us 4 years of on and off working to get it done, and he bought a car to actually drive. It then sat around until I decided I needed to dump a ton of money into it.

I am in no way a gear head, but I'm pretty handy. I dot drive it a ton because up until we got it tuned last month we were gettin 5 or 6 MPG with premium gas. But it is my baby, and is now gettin 9 or maybe even 10 mpg. Definitely a labor of love.

Softball, Slotcars, Golf, Hunting, and many other things that have come and gone, but fishing is the one constant.

Golf is my next favorite hobby behind fishing. I find it fun to see how much work it takes to hit that ball dead straight!

The only other hobby is bidding on e-bay as low as I can and seeing if I can get stuff cheap. Recently got a Chronarch 50 Mg pretty cheap. They are holding pretty steady at around 200 and i got mine for around 160. Used it today for the first time and it worked flawlessly.

I am a big hunter and into weight lifting and exercising. I also enjoy restoring boats. I work on boats to fund my fishing addiction. But I think my biggest hobby is waxing my Triton

For me it's shooting. I've been really getting into the IDPA stuff lately and am thinking of starting to do a few competitions at a local club. Always seems I'm working or fishing a tournament on that particular Saturday.

I work 50 - 55 hours per week. I am a wife, mama and mimi to the sweetest 3 year old to ever walk the earth. There is NO time for other hobbies. Not enough time to do what needs doing and certainly not enough time to do all of the fishing I want to do!

My two biggest hobbies are golf and downhill skiing. I also enjoy beer and chasing women, not sure how that's a hobby it's more of a sport, but I think it counts. I travel all the time, so I guess you could say that's a hobby (even though it's for work). Hunting, camping, and shooting are right up there as well. But the thing I love to do the most that tops everything is spending time with my daughter.

My life has always been my hobby. Joined the Florida Forest Service at a fairly young age, fought wildfire in Florida and all over the country. Opened up two State Forests and was an Area Supervisor. Now that I am retired my life is still my hobby. Horses, cows, my wonderful friend Katie the best Golden Retreiver ever, fishing, sitting around a campfire at hunt camp, Church work, and of course bass fishing. I am going to try to get into bream and crappie fishing this year. Always been afraid I'll miss a good bass so I just haven't done it.

My biggest hobby is knives and the sharpening of them. I also make custom Kydex sheaths for knives and guns.

I collect knives and modify them and I'm taking about quality knives like Spydercos, Benchmades, ZT's, Chris Reeve's ect.

Im also in the process of purchasing a belt sander and I'm going to start making knives.

I just love every aspect of knives, their is soo much to learn about with them that you wouldnt even think off.
