Well Congratulation Shimano, a reel that piques my interest. I was hoping for an Chronarch 50/51, but making it a Curado will do. Taking a page out of Daiwa's book and building reels on the popular platforms was a good move.

Built on the Core 50/51 platform, but I'm assuming aluminum frame and brass gears. It's basically a USDM version of the Scorpion 1000/1001XT. A higher speed would have been preferable, but oh well.

I have one of the Japanese Scorpions in that small profile. It's great if you want to do super finesse on baitcasting, but otherwise, I've learned to dislike that small size reel. I hope the new Curado (one of my favorite reels btw) is still offered in the 200/201 frame size.

Like I said in my previous post, the only difference is it is built on a different platform. Instead of being built on the Curado/Citica/Scorpion1500 platform, it is built on the Core 50/Aldebaran/Scorpion 1000XT platform. Other than that, there are no differences that I know of.

I haven't had the chance to hold any of these reels yet, but hopefully they palm better than the Curado/Citica platform...

I think it's the same thing on the E7, only with a different frame and size. The E7 will still be on production, and to my knowledge the 51E, will only be an add on to the curado family to my knowledge.

I'm with everyone else, that Curado is very intriguing. My issue with the Curado and Citica 200's are the way they palm. A different profile is very appealing, especially if it handles ultra light lures well.

unfortunately it is not on an AL frame, it's graphite.. not a real big deal though.

I also forgot to mention it's saltwater approved.
