Default Best Pole?

What do you think is the best pole for a baitcaster? Casting a spinner-bait or crankbait? I just baught a St. Croix 6'6 meduim action rod and love it. I can feel every little vibration and everything that I hit perfectlty. On you guys opinion, what do you guys like best

That's a good rod. I'm a Falcon/AllStar fan myself.

6' 6" is a good all around rod, you did well. I prefer a beefer MH rod though.

Medium action is the perfect action for crankbaits. I like medium heavy for spinnerbaits.

I also have a 6'6(actually I have 4) mh 2 are Loomis, 1 St.Croix and 1 Syter. I love the Loomis but the same thing for me....The St.Croix kicks a$$. I have definatly become a St.Croix fan...All the rods in this style are mh, fast action, 10-20lb, 3/8-1oz rated....hope this helps you out! This makes for a good all around rod. Great for cranks, blades, worms, smaller jigs.......

If I had my druthers I would use two different rods. A fiberglass StCroix 7 foot rod for the crank bait with branded super thin line. For the spinnerbait a short 6 or 6.6 mh St Croix with some good mono will do nice.

With the fiberglass rod and the braided line for the cranks you can fish deep or shallow and know if the lure has picked up grass or has it legs crossed just by the movement of the rod tip.

for a crankbait always use a 7 foot rod. 6'6'' does not give enough casting distance. for divers i use meduim action fenwick light mono. lipless baits mh action lews with 12 pound mono.

yeah i know it aint a fenwick. but till fenwick makes a rod with the same taper blank i will use the lews..
